What could be a good nickname for Jared Allen?

November 13, 2011 4:08 pm

I think Jared Allen should be called, "the chef of sacks."

VIKES QB. NEXT YEAR

January 15, 2011 2:26 pm
Edited on: January 15, 2011 2:39 pm

I think that the Viknigs are gonna make some dumb move like trying to go an get a McNabb or Young -- Not a good idea -- My thoughts on next year would be letting Webb get a fair shot at starting or if we REALLY WANT  a new QB then do whatever it takes to get the kid out of Auburn -- then put him in an start him his 1st year an not stick him on the bench ---

Joe Webb to WR?

August 24, 2010 3:31 pm

With our sudden need at WR, and 4 quarterbacks on the roster, is it time to move Webb to receiver?  I relaize he's a project and he will not replace Rice, but he's a project at QB too and I don't think we can sneak him past waivers onto the practice squad.  The other solution may be to try to trade Sage for a WR, but I don't know who might be available.
At any rate, this is my first post and I'm hoping this will make me a member, because I cannot for the life of me figure out how to become a member of a group.
Skol!

Is It Time To Make A Trade?

August 22, 2010 11:46 am

Josh Freeman, the 2nd yr starting Buccaneers QB, went down with a broken thumb on his throwing hand last night, in TB's 2nd pre-season game. The Bucs have two inexperienced back-ups and a lot of questions to answer, as it it is possible, if not probable, that Freeman may miss some regular season games. TB could opt to bring in someone like a 40 yr old Jeff Garcia, who is signed with Omaha (essentially a minor league football team)... or they could opt to make a trade.

A lot of the Vikings' money is tied up in 3 QBs and while I understand that this is supposed to be Brett Favre's last year, I wonder if trading either Sage Rosenfels ot Tarvaris Jackson, to TB, for a current positional need or future draft picks, wouldn't be a bigger help in the long run. Besides freeing up money, the Vikings could always add depth if they can't land a starter, perhaps at the LB or DB units, or even getting an RB, like Earnest Graham to back up AP, while rookie RB, Toby Gerhart learns the ropes...

I'm interested in reading your thoughts and speculation ideas, so please reply.

He's Baaaaaaack!

To Any and All Doubters and to any Any and All Wishful Thinkers (Bears Fans, Lions fans, and especially Packer fans), to you I say- May the "FAVRE" Be With You!
Brett Favre, after some coaxing from fellow teammates, found his way back to MN, for what he says (for now anyway Wink ), will be his last year at trying to get one more Super Bowl victory, before he retires. While Viking fans all over this country are elated Brett has returned and that the uncertainty is over, all the rest of the NFL fans that call Brett a primadonna, an egotist, etc, are also glad Brett is back, just so that CBS, ESPN and other Sports reporting outlets, can get onto reporting about other things. Trust me- I get the frustration and exhaustion over the whole "Brett" saga, but understand that in spite of how Favre handles himself with all this stuff, not only are the Vikings better with Favre, but the NFL is also better for having him in the league, which is why he becomes a focal point, every  beginning of football season, ever since he started this, "retirement/not retirement" stuff. Love Brett or Hate Brett, Favre helps the league and the annually re-occuring Brett Favre story, is still better than all the other off-the-field crap other players were getting in trouble for (i.e. dog fighting, shooting one's self with an illegally carried and concealed gun, "making it rain" and causing mayhem at a strip joint, etc).

So with that, Let me just say- WELCOME BACK BRETT! EVERYBODY is glad you finally made a decision.  Go Vikings!!!
